Sanderstead Village Lawn Tennis Club is set in just under an acre of lovely grounds in the heart of Sanderstead Village.
Since the club opened in 1932 it has held the values of tennis being a fun and enjoyable sport to play for all ages. Families have always been encouraged to join us and make the most of the peaceful and quiet space we offer to have fun together playing tennis and more recently, Pickleball.
NEW MEMBERS WELCOME
We warmly welcome new members of any age and ability. We understand it takes a while to be sure you have found the right club, so your FIRST 3 VISITS ATTENDING OUR GROUP PLAY SESSIONS ARE FREE.
You can also arrange to play at the club with family or friends for free outside of a club session. Membership details can be found here.

A choice of 4 well-maintained tennis courts can be easily be booked online by members of the tennis club.
Members can also turn up and play on an available court outside Club Sessions.
Members really enjoy our group tennis sessions under the floodlights. Between 6pm and 8pm every Wednesday, weather permitting. Club members may also purchase floodlight tokens to play outside of club times.
GROUP SESSIONS
We have group sessions at set times for all members to turn up and play tennis together, known as Club Sessions. Normally we play mixed, men’s or ladies’ doubles, though the more energetic amongst us enjoy a game of singles too. The club provides Slazenger Balls for Club Sessions. This is included in your membership fee.
PICKLEBALL
Pickleball is taking the US by storm and we're excited to introduce it to our club. Our head coach, Phil Vivian, is a qualified Pickleball coach and will be holding introductory coaching sessions throughout the summer. Pickleball can be played on a regular tennis court with temporary markings. The club has 4 paddles kindly donated by Phil Vivian which can be used by club members to give the game a try. Court 4 will be dedicated to Pickleball.
A Pickleball club membership is available.
COACHING
We have MDL as our coaching company. Our head coach, Phil and Matt are our club coaches. They offer individual coaching, hold Junior coaching on Saturday mornings and adult coaching sessions in the summer.

LITTLE ACES
A diverse outdoor playgroup for under 5's held within our beautiful club grounds during the summer holidays, run by two of our members. A selection of garden toys, mud kitchens, nature-safe messy and sensory play, sports equipment, ride-on toys, plus a dedicated baby area.
Your little ones are free to play, explore, create and have fun in the company of other similar-aged local children in a safe and welcoming space. Price includes 2 hours of outdoor play, a fruit snack and unlimited refreshments.
Junior Tennis Coaching (for ages 5-10) also runs on adhoc dates throughout the summer holidays with the club's Head Coach, Phil Vivian during Little Aces from 9.30-10.30am. Great for families with siblings. Bookable via the Little Aces website. Spaces limited.
